Get your creative juices flowing!!!

Afternoon,
I feel recently I have been slightly neglecting this blog. Mainly because I am at the unimportant stages of my projects where just getting on with it is what counts. However, a long while ago now I watched a brilliant series on BBC2 about the various recent styles in fashion e.g. rebel, country, street etc... Unfortunately I have never found a hard copy of this series, however clips of this programme have now been featured in an 'educational' programme for fashion textiles diploma aired at 4am on BBC2. Here is that programme for all those budding fashionistas out there, it may just get your creative juices flowing!

As for me today will be a balancing act of all the projects I have on the go at the moment! I endeavour to start an initial draft of my essay about popular culture but not entirely sure where to start! I think it would be particularly beneficial to follow to journey of an iconic product from that period to fully understand how design influences change. I was thinking possibly the Hoover, Chevrolet or thunderbird? The thing I love so much about this period in history is the playful appearance of all the products, interiors etc... the concept of being fun. the colour schemes were kept pastel with a few primary shots here and there. Who knows it may provide some inspiration for my own collection?....

I leave you with some wonderful iconic pictures from this period and of course the link to the previously mentioned video. I hope you enjoy it.
