Catch Up!

Ok long time since last update. What can I say!? Well the research is complete and I had a one to one tutorial on thursday which was productive. I now need to edit the images I have collected, and consider my layout and personal reflection of my sketchbook. Once I have completed that and bound my sketchbook I need to find some sort of colour scheme for my design work. I have been looking through my images and the one image which stands out for me for colour is the first image I have posted below. Work by Chris Ofili entitled "MYA" painted in 1993. Sorry for the poor quality but the image is scanned in from a book I bought at the exhibition as there's not much of his work available on the internet.
My research has now evolved to incorporate work by Bridget Riley, Frank Stella and Steven Storman, with the idea of confined shapes collectively used to create the piece. Once the basic layers are created I can begin to pick out details with embellishment.
My tutor's feedback was that I need to create some more 3D samples in order to make my design work more effective and experimental, although he did like the designs I had already created and suggested playing with the scale of my samples too. More images to follow I promise!
