Hi!
So sorry I haven't updated my time has been so busy I cannot tell you! Ok well I came back to London and have been inundated with bits and pieces. I began by going for an interview for a part time internship which I got offered! (Fantastic eh!?) Not only did he interview me personally but he gave me his personal mobile number and said he loved my designs :D.
Had a business meeting with Leo. Although he had given me things to do with this rainbow PVC I went straight in there and told him about all these ideas I had about venturing in to the luxury rubber/ready to wear collection. Well he loved it! Things have moved on so quickly. Not only has he agreed with it, it appears we are now going in to business, he will be my partner and he is supplying me with manufactures, business contacts etc... although technically I am captain of the ship. We have a secured a fashion show at the Festival of the Sins which is brilliant. It also puts massive pressure on me! Set up another business meeting with Leo on the Friday of this week to finalise the collection and brand details, get business cards printed and look in to rolls and contracts! How exciting!? More to follow...
Then I had a photo shoot with my dear friend and amazing stylist, David White. Jonathan Saunders requested to see some work of mine. The photo studios were unavailable and so was a decent camera, however we battled on and got the shoot done in the FDSP studios with no more than my 10 MP camera. Despite all of this the pictures look brilliant and I am yet to finish editing them. Lloyd Scott Tyler has already requested they are to be featured in Dutty magazine :D. I am hoping that another collaboration with David White on my rubber collection will result in a feature in disorder magazine or who knows!? I have put up the pictures below just to give a taster, wish me luck!
Mon-Fri has been helping out my dear friend Kate in her graduate collection for the internal fashion show. At this point I should mention that out of the 54 students only about 20 will make the final cut and it is extremely tight! I have not got a clue who will be chosen. Kate's clothes are amazing and so well finished and professional. I hope she makes it! (I'm sure she will) I was assisting backstage for the fashion show, assigned to a specific model and required to change her 8 times within the show. Unfortunately I didn't get to see the show, but i will watch the video when possible. The venue was fantastic and got really really positive feedback from all the audience, very high standard and quality across the board. The decision of who will make the final cut will be announced on Monday and will be required to help out with them to get another 3 outfits made for a month's time! I'm sure there will be tears of joy and upset :s.
The next week will consist of writing this bloody essay, helping out my 3rd year, and really pushing my label and coming up with a mood board etc...
I leave you with my shoot pictures and a link to D:VOID Magazine, Enjoy!
