Flowers In Fashion

So yesterday on route back to London the two creative heads behind the LOLO label spent a little time at RHS Wisley. We were certainly very lucky with the weather! For those unfamiliar with RHS Wisley it is the home of the Royal Horticultural Society with huge themed gardens and greenhouses. It makes you proud to live in Britain, as our gardens are something to be truly marvelled at. The lush foliage and beautiful and colourful blooms were bursting with inspiration for the two of us.

We must recommend a visit to those who have not been. This time of the year is definitely the best time to go as you will see the gardens in full swing. Check out the RHS website: http://www.rhs.org.uk/gardens/wisley to see what's on, how to get there and the facilities on offer. We definitely recommend lunch or afternoon tea at the conservatory cafe for a large selection of yummy cakes and tasty lunches. We have vowed to return with our sketchbooks and begin scribbling down some images to put in to the SS13 collection. Thinking about the use of flowers and plants in fashion can be found in many different forms and obvious examples are floral prints. We want to use the shapes and the vivid colours in a more controlled and abstract form to create beautiful garments in gorgeous natural silks and cottons and of course all made in Great Britain.
