Filling in the gap

Although this blog has been quiet my life has been anything but! Here's a quick run down of what's happened in the gap:

I met the amazing designer/tutor Kat Marks and the fashion illustrator Richard Gray. Their work is truly inspirational and I was very privileged to have tutorials with them about my portfolio and my creative direction. My portfolio at this time was in pieces and did not look anything like a portfolio! With some careful encouragement they have both helped me enormously to start making progress of compiling all my work to date.

Richard Gray is a lovely man and extremely talented. He is also very frank in his advise and fortunately we found that we were on the same wavelength when looking through my work and analysing my style. He complemented my drawings and ability saying I have great mark making- very flattering coming from him of course! At last I didn't feel like a lost cause.

Kat Marks is a private tutor who kindly saw me for 2 hours despite a friend letting me down at the last minute for a joint tutorial. I found her online and having looked through her work this lady know what she's doing! She's a specialist in fashion architecture, in particular accessories and graduated with her CSM MA collection being filmed and streamed on SHOWSTUDIO by none other than the infamous Nick Knight! Looking through her portfolio was a real eye opener and got me thinking about my branding and how I portray myself to others.

Also a dear friend, George Jenkins who kindly collaborated with me to make some beautiful hats for my final collection has recommended a great graphics portfolio. Her work is amazing and includes a tutorial on portfolio presentation- true inspiration for any form of publication.

Well I think it is only fair that I put their work up here! Enjoy
